Tests find no link between baby illnesses and formula
Thu, 5 Jan 2012Testing by multiple government agencies has failed to find a connection between infant formula and recent cases of rare bacterial infections that killed two newborns and severely sickened two others.
Subsequent investigation by the CDC and state health departments found that not all the babies had been fed the same formula.
CDC testing showed the Missouri and Illinois babies were infected with different strains of the bacteria, suggesting they were not related.
